BMW India today unveiled the 2012-13 version of the X6 in New Delhi. Along with it, the German manufacturer also inaugurated its most modern and biggest showroom in the county called Deutsche Motoren - Faridabad.
Speaking on the occasion Philipp von Sahr, President said, “there are SUVs’ and there are coupes, but there is only one BMWX6. This vehicle is like no other. It unites apparent opposites, such as size with agility and sportiness with elegance. It’s a sports car that also feels at home when away from the road. That is why, we have created a separate vehicle category for the BMWX6 – the Sports Activity Coupe”, added Philipp.
Priced at Rs 78.9 lakhs for the xDrive40d and Rs 93.4 lakhs for the XDrive50i, the new X6 is a facelift of its predecessor. Therefore the improvement include features like a new kidney grille with three dimensional chrome frames & angled slats, repositioned fog lamps and new LED taillights. Meanwhile the interiors provide elements like sports seats and X Drive – which is BMW’s intelligent all wheel drive system as standard fitments. The engine choices include both petrol and diesel. The petrol model offers an eight-cylinder engine featuring TwinPower Turbo and high Precision Injection that gives out a performance out of 407 bhp with 600 Nm of torque. The diesel on the other hand has an in line six-cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo and CommonRail Direct Injection catering to a power output of 306 bhp with 600 Nm of torque. The transmission on board includes a new eight-speed gearbox which is claimed to be smooth thereby providing perfect gearshifts. Beside all these, the company has also introduced a new colour called Alpine While along with the existing range of paints that are available on this model.
